Soon after the invention of Scotsman David Brewster (1816), in years started to develop the art of graphic and industrial design, the kaleidoscope with its original vision optics and infinite geometric shapes became a tool capable of producing in an automatic, almost mechanical, artistic forms, new patterns and stylistic decoration, able to inspire and fascinate most of the artists of the early nineteenth century. During its century-old life, the kaleidoscope has attracted the interest of writers, artists and philosophers. One of the most distinguished art critics of the twentieth century, Ernst H. Gombrich, based on the theory of perception, in his essay The sense of order. A study on the psychology of decorative art (1979), devoted a whole paragraph at this optical instrument, so as to elevate the upper echelons of the strict Anglo-Saxon academy.

In our catalog are also present useful items to learn the ancient techniques a writer but also reproductions of historical maps of planispheres, as well as pleasing playful items like puzzles, dolls and colorful kaleidoscopes.
